Off On A New Adventure
"Life is too short"..."Life won't wait." "Dance before the music's over, live before your life is over", I could go on. Always saying "One day I'm going to ___________" (fill in the blank) but that day never comes, right? Well Johnny and I are going from the term "One day to Day one.
Many of you know how fascinated we are in tiny living (especially Johnny). We love the tiny house movement, shipping container homes, vintage trailers etc. the ability to rid yourself of all the extra baggage that you can't seem to let go of. And as a very good friend of ours once said to John. People save it, never use it and keep it nice for their estate sale. Who wants that? I don't.

We have worked since 2010 to slowly downsize...by choice. We went from 2300 sq.ft. To 900 sq. ft. And worked on getting smaller and smaller. We haven't eliminated everything, saving our precious photos, art and other mementos...but we've truly eliminated STUFF! Things that I had such a tremendous guilt of letting go. Why? The memories are not attached to the object. The memories are in my heart and mind.
We've purchased a travel trailer and landed in Washington state. Some think we've lost our minds. Following some old stereotype of "trailer living". Like what you see in the movies...a gal stepping out of a dilapidated trailer, curlers made from beer cans, cigarette hanging from the lip, wearing a house coat that's torn. (We should make a Christmas card with that image have Johnny in a white tank t-shirt with overalls on.)
We will get to enjoy the outdoors much more, I am getting into fly fishing and will do so along the Columbia River. Tons of bike trails for John and I to discover and so much more.
Some of my friends said I need to journal this in a blog and we just might do that. Showing how to downsize, setting up a capsule wardrobe and basically living a tiny simpler life.
Of course Johnny Lolita's will continue to grow...that will NOT change. Shipping and delivering fresh roasted coffee and creating confections, desserts and more for gifts and special events. We also have other exciting things happening that we will keep you posted.
It's going to be a huge change and we will chronicle what we are doing...good and bad and hopefully get some laughs as we try to figure this all out. We hope you will enjoy reading about our new adventure and feel free to ask us questions, we would love to answer. ❤️❤️❤️
